MLS POLICIES & PROCEDURES
REMINDER

Just a friendly reminder of a few rules regarding MLS listings.

All listings must be completely “unbranded”. This means no reference to the listing office or listing agent may be entered anywhere in the property information.

Photos may not contain real estate signs.

Directions field may not say call listing office; this information may be entered into Realtor Remarks only.

Virtual tours must be unbranded including the information that appears in the address bar when it is viewed. Virtual tours may not link to a REALTOR® or brokerage website. (See examples provided below).

Remember - No signs or references to agents or offices are allowed in virtual tours, video streaming, or photographs.

MAP EDITING FEATURE

We now have a mapping feature in our MLS, please be sure to check your listings to see if they are mapped correctly. The mapping feature is a function of the “Google” satellite and so we have no control over how the mapping is done. However, as we make corrections to the map the system will “learn” our area and less and less corrections will be needed in the future. In the meantime, please check your listings as they are entered into the system and manually correct properties that are showing in the wrong locations. Please reference the MaintenanceTab manual at the bottom of the Downloads Tab in Interface Express, or call the board office for instructions on how to correct your property maps.

MAP EDITING TOOL TIP

WHEN CHECKING YOUR LISTING MAPS, YOU MAY DISCOVER THAT SOME OF THEM ARE SHOWING UP IN ANOTHER PART OF THE STATE (OR EVEN IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STATE!). USING INTERFACE EXPRESS, UNDER THE MAINTENANCE TAB, GO TO EDIT MAP LOCATION. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE ADDRESS OF THE LISTING YOU WANT TO EDIT, THIS WILL BRING UP THE MAP ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCREEN. TO GET THE MARKER CLOSER TO YOUR LISTING AREA, CLICK ON THE “SHOW BOARD AREA” ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF SCREEN, THIS WILL SHOW YOU OUR MLS JURISDICTION. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE TOWNSHIP THAT YOU NEED TO BE IN. YOU WILL THEN SEE THE RED MARKER. FROM THERE USE THE ZOOM + AND - TO GET IN CLOSER AND FIND YOUR EXACT LOCATION. THERE IS AN OPTION ON THE EDIT MAP LOCATION FEATURE - “DO NOT SHOW MAP”, IF YOU CAN NOT OR DO NOT WANT TO MANUALLY PINPOINT THE LOCATION.
